Unleash Your Leadership Potential and Accelerate Your Future

As a military member, you have already developed a unique skill set that sets you apart from your peers. However, transitioning back into civilian life can be difficult. And potential employers can be blind to your experience and how to apply it within the workforce.

The University of Miami’s online programs are can ease the transition from military to civilian life and provide current or former military members the credentials they need to find a rewarding new career. “I believe military experience translates very well into most careers and industries, but sometimes it’s difficult for organizations to see the value in that experience and understand how to apply it. Starting school sooner would have given me the opportunity to learn how to better leverage my knowledge and experience into a new civilian career,” explains UOnline senior enrollment advisor and US Army veteran Johnaton Burton.

UOnline currently offers seven graduate degree programs taught online by the same unmatched faculty that teach on campus. Most importantly – the programs are designed to provide students with the same high-caliber educational experience they would receive as an on-campus student.

“I believe I am more involved and have more school spirit then I did when I was in my undergraduate program. The professors are very transparent and involved. The faculty is very helpful and encouraging for the things I am trying to accomplish even though I am not physically on campus,” shares Ganesha Johnson, a former military member and alumni of the Masters of Education in Sport Administration program.

Johnson credits her success to her experience in the military, “Personally my military experience has helped me with the discipline required for completing the program. I make sure I am incredibly organized and know what needs to be done each day. I map out each assignment to make sure I know when and what needs to get done. It is online so I can do it really anywhere, I think the flexibility is awesome. “

The university also recognizes the military’s unique demands. If you get deployed, administrators and faculty can help you complete courses from wherever you're stationed, or you can apply for a "military withdrawal" and get a refund so you can resume your studies later.

The online graduate programs also offer several military specific benefits including military dedicated scholarships, which can cover up to 45% of the tuition costs as well as participation in the yellow ribbon program which provides veterans-only scholarships that the VA will match-up for eligible students. Additionally, UOnline provides military members and veterans with a dedicated enrollment advisor who will guide students through enrollment and financial aid to course selection and career services.

UOnline currently offers seven graduate programs including Masters of Business Administration, Masters of Professional Accounting, Masters of Science in Finance, Masters of Education in Sport Administration, Masters of Public Administration, Masters of Art in Communication Studies and Masters of Science in Health Informatics.
